JIM VENDIOLA | FILMMAKER
Jim is a freelance filmmaker and editor whose work has screened internationally, and whose unconventional style has gained critical notice. In 2010 he wrote and directed the short DRIFT, which was on view at the Festival de Cannes 2011 Court Métrage while also receiving several accolades and nominations on the festival circuit, including two audience awards. The short also generated bicoastal producer interest in its development as a feature. His previous works have screened at the Chicago Underground Film Festival, the Chicago Filipino American Film Festival, and the Hi Mom! Film Festival.
Jim is currently developing his dark, coming-of-age period drama, SUNNY DAYS. Its original script has received excellent coverage on The Black List, and from Electric City Entertainment (Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines) and OddLot Entertainment (Drive, Ender's Game). It is currently is in consideration for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 2014 Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting.
His bold new psychological horror short, VIOLETS, is currently in post-production and is slated for a Q1 2015 premiere on the festival circuit.
